Why scissor lifts need precise tilt monitoring

A scissor lift's stability depends on a narrow, folding base. As the platform rises, the effective footprint narrows and the center of gravity climbs, so uneven ground, soft tires or off-center loads turn into tilt long before the operator feels it. Measuring chassis and platform angles continuously lets the controller alarm, restrict lift height or lock travel before the machine approaches its tipping limit — even under constant vibration, wind loading and wide outdoor temperature swings.
