Shenzhen, China – September 12, 2026 — The 27th China International Optoelectronic Exposition (CIOE 2026), one of Asia’s largest and most influential optoelectronic events, wrapped up its three-day run at Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center. Co-located with the International Integrated Circuit Innovation Expo and elexcon Shenzhen Electronics Show, the combined event occupied 320,000 square meters of exhibition space, forming a full industrial chain platform spanning optoelectronics, semiconductors and embedded electronics.
Driven by rising demands from industrial automation, new energy vehicles, structural monitoring and other downstream sectors, manufacturers of accelerometers, IMUs, angle sensors and tilt sensors have all gained market momentum.
CIOE 2026 featured eight core exhibition zones, including information communication, precision optics, laser & intelligent manufacturing, infrared & ultraviolet technology, intelligent sensing, new display, AR/VR and photonics innovation. The intelligent sensing pavilion attracted strong attention, showcasing MEMS sensors, imaging sensors, inertial measurement units and multi-dimensional perception solutions for robotics, industrial monitoring, automotive and smart infrastructure applications.
With AI infrastructure driving explosive demand for optical interconnect and high-precision sensing, exhibitors unveiled many new products targeting AI computing, machine vision and automated manufacturing. The exhibition welcomed a large number of international buyers, system integrators and R&D engineers, with busy on-site technical discussions and business negotiations across all halls.
Parallel to the exhibition, over 90 high-level forums and technical seminars took place, jointly organized with global industry bodies such as Yole Group and the European Photonics Industry Consortium. Speakers discussed silicon photonics, optical computing, sensor miniaturization and supply chain challenges, releasing industry reports and forward-looking technology roadmaps for global attendees.
As a key annual gathering for the optoelectronics community, CIOE continues to connect upstream material and component suppliers with downstream system manufacturers and end users. It serves as a critical window for global players to discover new suppliers, benchmark latest technologies and identify emerging business opportunities in the fast-growing photonics and sensing markets.
Industry analysts note that the convergence of AI and optoelectronics will keep generating new demand across industrial, automotive, medical and aerospace sectors. The next edition of CIOE will open in Shenzhen in September 2027.
