Why slopes need in-place angle measurement
Rainfall, excavation and erosion weaken slopes gradually, and the visible signs — cracks, bulges, leaning trees — often appear only a short time before failure. In-place STS6 tilt sensors measure the rotation of the ground and of retaining structures continuously, catching the quiet creep phase of a few millimetres so the acceleration that precedes failure is detected early — adding valuable time to the warning.
