Mine Edge & Underground Safety Monitoring | Ruicom HTS6
Application

Safety monitoring at the edge and underground of the mine

Open-pit walls and waste dumps fail the same way natural slopes do — slowly, then suddenly — while underground, roof and pillar convergence develops quietly after every blast. The HTS6 high-precision tilt sensor watches that rotation continuously at 0.001° resolution, through dust, blasting shock and a −40~+85 ℃ swing, so movement is caught while evacuation and re-profiling are still options.

  • 0.001° resolution · 0.005° MAE
  • −40~+85 ℃ · IP67

Why mines need in-place angle measurement

Open-pit benches, dump slopes and underground openings all give the same late warning by eye: cracks, bulges and spalling appear only a short time before failure. HTS6 tilt sensors installed on bench crests, dump slopes, portals and pillars measure ground rotation continuously — separating slow creep from post-blast movement — so the acceleration phase is detected early and adds valuable time to warning and evacuation.

Typical use cases

From pit edge to underground

  • Pit wall & bench stability — sensors on bench crests and haul ramps catch creep of the pit wall before cracks reach the haul road.
  • Waste dump & tailings dam monitoring — units on dump slopes and dam crests reveal settlement and rotational movement through the rainy season.
  • Underground roof & pillar deformation — wall-mounted units in portals, roadways and stopes flag convergence after blasting, before support shows visible distress.
  • Portal, shaft & fixed-plant watch — sensors on portal lintels, shaft collars and crusher foundations keep mine infrastructure inside its deformation budget.
