Why high formwork needs continuous tilt monitoring
A high formwork system is a temporary structure carrying one of the heaviest loads on site — wet concrete. During casting the load rises minute by minute, and any settlement, loose coupling or buckling of the support poles first shows up as a small tilt of the formwork surface. Because a leaning pole loses load capacity far faster than it loses appearance, collapse can develop from a fraction of a degree to failure with almost no visible warning. Measuring formwork and support-pole angles continuously lets the monitoring system alarm and trigger evacuation while the deviation is still millimetres — not after it becomes news.
